Dom S x HydraPak – Elite Marathon Hydration Insights
In preparation for the 2024 Chicago Marathon, I partnered with two-time Olympian and professional distance runner Dom Scott to explore her race-day hydration and fueling strategy. This collaboration highlighted how even elite athletes meticulously plan their hydration, offering valuable lessons for everyday runners.
To showcase Dom’s insights and promote HydraPak’s Tempo bottle, I developed the concept for a short video that combined expert advice with product storytelling. I crafted the content, wrote the direction, and provided creative guidance to our Art Director and Videographer, ensuring the final piece resonated with runners of all levels.
The video offers a behind-the-scenes look at Dom’s training and explains why the Tempo bottle became her go-to for marathon hydration. By blending authentic storytelling with actionable advice, this project elevated HydraPak’s brand narrative and positioned the Tempo bottle as a must-have for runners.
Impact:
*This video allowed HydraPak to leverage Dom's large network and social following to promote our new product. Gaining exposure to new teams of elite athletes and every day runners.
*Established the Tempo Bottle as an elite level hydration product used at world major marathons broadcasted globally.
*Boosted sales of Tempo product by 15% during promotion of the video and blog on social, LinkedIn and email newsletters.
*Increased outreach by Elite level road runners to HydraPak partners team interested in securing sponsorships led to signing of world-class marathoner, Reed Fischer as a 2025 HydraPak Athlete
